Kalshi Courts Tribal Partners While Others Fight Its Business in Court

By The Weekly Edge desk ·

Summary

Kalshi says it is signing tribal partners who own and run their own prediction market apps, while it supplies the exchange infrastructure such as matching, clearing, custody and surveillance. It declined to give revenue-split figures or say who bears legal costs if a tribal platform faces enforcement, though Alabama-Quassarte Tribal Town confirmed it expects a share of transaction revenue from its PokkeTrades platform. Meanwhile, an Indian Gaming Association-commissioned study models tribal losses of $1.5bn to over $7.8bn a year under hypothetical scenarios, and other tribes are challenging Kalshi's sports contracts in court.

Why it matters

Undisclosed revenue splits and legal-cost allocation, plus tribal court challenges, leave tribes, operators and investors unable to judge the value of Kalshi's tribal partnerships.
